Richard graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2012. As a student, he developed his interest and clinical skills in exotic animal medicine and surgery, having spent two summers working at Taiping Zoo, Malaysia. After graduating, he moved back to Yorkshire where he worked in a small animal and exotic animal practice for 5 years before moving to Holly House in 2018.
Richard gained an ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Exotic Animal Practice in 2018 and a year later was awarded his Post-Graduate Certificate in Exotic Animal Studies. He is currently working towards Advanced Practitioner status. His particular interests lie in treating reptiles and psittacines, and he enjoys the challenges of surgery, endoscopy and client education.
