This handsome boy is Buster. Buster came to see Holly, our Clinical Director and medicine certificate holder, after his owners noticed that his tummy was very swollen. Holly performed an ultrasound scan, which showed a large fluid-filled structure in his abdomen and some changes to his bladder. A CT scan then identified the structure as his ureter.

This is a tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder but Buster’s had become blocked and then swelled to humongous proportions! A biopsy was taken from Buster’s bladder to find out what was blocking his ureter and luckily the pathologist identified a large cyst with no sign of cancer.
