Ben Cargill

Ben graduated from University of Leeds completing a zoology degree with an integrated research placement year at Merlin Animal Welfare and Development. He then studied Veterinary Science at University of Bristol, where he further explored his interests in exotic medicine.

This year, he published a research paper on pet snake welfare in the Animal Welfare Journal. Along with completing experience at Bristol Zoo and being past president of the Bristol University Veterinary and Zoological Society. He hopes to get involved in more collaborative research in the future.

This summer he solo backpacked through Costa Rica, jungle trekking, doing a bungee jump, and scuba diving with 3m bull sharks. When back at home, he likes to relax by bingeing trash TV, playing basketball, and hiking - looking to do the UK 3 peaks at some point next year.
