Katie Cooper

Katie qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in November 2015 and joined the Holly House Team at the start of April 2021. After a couple years away in a smaller GP practice, she absolutely loves being back in the buzz of a busy hospital environment. She joined as a Senior Vet Nurse, to then be promoted to a Deputy Head Nurse and is now the Head Nurse of the Emergency and Critical Care Department and manages the night team, out of hours department and liaison with all our out of hours practices.

She has always had a love and keen interest for rabbit and small mammal medicine (having owned them for 17 years) and since moving here has become heavily involved in procedures involving all types of exotics (small mammals, reptiles and birds) and helps out regularly at our Shadwell Exotics Only Clinic. Her other clinical interests are emergency surgery and medicine, inpatient care and laparoscopic surgery.

In her spare time Katie also has a passion for keeping fit and active, with a particular passion for weightlifting which she has been doing for many years now. She qualified as a Indoor Cycling and Fitness instructor in July 2023 and teaches multiple classes a week alongside her full-time job here with us as well as her own training. Katie has 2 wonderful black cats called Fig and Bridget and loveable naughty tortie called Aubrie, all of whom are rescues through work.
