Pet Smile Month
Unlike their wild relatives, our pets can no longer chew on bones and fur to help keep their teeth as healthy as possible. This means that it is down to their owners to look after their teeth for them!
Caring for your pets teeth is a vital way to help keep your companion healthy. Not only does dental disease mean that your pet can end up losing a lot of their teeth, but it is very uncomfortable and painful. This means that they will become reluctant to eat, start drooling or even become depressed. In some cases, the bacteria in your pets mouth can lead to kidney disease, liver disease and heart valve disease. So dental problems do not just affect your pets mouth!
There are many ways to help prevent dental problems. One way is to have your pets teeth checked regularly. By having regular dental checks, any problems can be identified as soon as possible and hopefully any major dental surgery can be avoided. Dental care at home is also very important to keep your best friends mouth healthy! There are many things that can be used including tooth brushing, mouthwashes and dental foods.
Here at Holly House Vets, we feel it is very important to care for your pets teeth so we are having Pet Smile Month throughout all of September! During Pet Smile Month, we will be offering FREE dental checks with our clinic nurse, Sheryl, where we can offer you plenty of advice on dental care and help with any problems your pet may have! By coming in for your free dental check, you will also be eligible to a 10% discount voucher for any dental work that your pet may need as well as a discount on many dental products that will be recommended to you. You will also be given a dental care pack to take home with you!
To book your free dental check, please speak to reception or ask to speak to out clinic nurse, Sheryl, if you wish to find out anymore details about Pet Smile Month.
