We are looking for a veterinary surgeon, new graduates will be considered, to replace our one year graduate vet who is off to pursue her travelling dreams. Our practice is an RCVS accredited hospital, we have a 24 hour emergency service on site and have a busy and varied caseload.
The vet team all have their own areas of expertise and we have an exotics, surgery and medicine certificate holder and a vet working towards her emergency and critical care certificate.
We are well equipped and have digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, Doppler blood pressure, critical care monitors, ventilators, rabbit v-gel tubes, dedicated exotic and small furry wards and a well-equipped theatre suite.
Most importantly we have a fantastic team of staff who are friendly and supportive. The vets are encouraged to seek advice from each other and have regular meetings to discuss cases and share new knowledge learnt on CPD.
The current work pattern is a 4 day week and equal share in the out of hour’s rota which is one in seven. This includes one week night on call in 7; one weekend on call every 7 weeks, followed by 2 days off; and one Saturday in seven, followed by a 4 day weekend the next weekend. It is a busy practice but generous time off is given to allow for a really good work life balance.
There would be 28 days holiday per annum, inclusive of bank holidays, 5 CPD days and a £1,200 CPD budget. VDS fees are paid for by the practice.
